Japanese trumpeter Takuya Kuroda, an indisputable reference in the Brooklyn jazz scene, reaffirms his creative maturity with the release of his eighth studio album, Everyday. Following the success of his acclaimed Midnight Crisp (2022), the Kobe-born musician returns with a proposal that delves into the fusion of modern jazz with hip hop and neo-soul, achieving a perfect balance between technical production and organic performance.
The album's title, Everyday, is a manifesto of Kuroda's work ethic. With nearly three decades in his career and a trajectory that includes collaborations with DJ Premier's Badder Band and recordings for legendary labels like Blue Note, the trumpeter maintains that excellence is only achieved through daily practice.
