Suitable for music lovers, the music of Africa Gallego returns with AFRICA GALLEGO PROJECT. She, who was the voice, heart, and strength of MOJO PROJECT, is back with a unique, fresh, and elegant project, one that is much more mature, a fusion between her roots and the most avant-garde sounds of progressive jazz and free jazz, which invites you to immerse yourself in a musical explosion on the shoulders of a powerful quintet, produced by Jorge Pérez, director of PATAX. The Andalusian singer, instrumentalist, and composer is considered one of the driving forces of the fusion movement in this country; her music contains many influences: funk, pop, afrobeat, flamenco, jazz, and trip-hop. Her musical career began in the late 80s in local groups in Málaga. She began to take an interest in styles like jazz and funk, and decided to undertake a journey in search of sounds that took her through cities like London, Berlin, and Paris. After her training and musical experience, she settled in Madrid. She joined the band MOJO PROJECT, of which she eventually became the leader, voice, and soul, and simultaneously began collaborating with DJs, thereby touring all the emblematic clubs and festivals in Spanish territory; influences that strengthened the band MOJO and that undoubtedly helped proclaim it as the Breakthrough Group of 2005. After several years of tours and collaborations with other artists, she began her solo career, releasing her album 'A MI AIRE,' on which she collaborated with double bassist Toni Cuenca and debuted as a producer. An intimate work full of feeling, which in parallel, allowed her to continue reaping success in the electronic scene alongside David Penn. Currently, AFRICA GALLEGO PROJECT is the brilliant mix between the overwhelming charisma of Africa Gallego and the open approach of an effervescent and unpredictable band that can take a neo-soul track to climaxes reminiscent of Weather Report or Wayne Shorter.
