Irati Bilbao presents Bloom in Madrid, her highly anticipated second album, a work that surpasses the expectations set by her debut, Begin, a remarkable first album that established her as one of the most important and promising figures in the jazz scene in recent years.
Bloom marks the debut and evolution of this artist, who navigates the realms of classic jazz masterfully, embracing improvisation and scat, while also incorporating other elements and influences. Original songs by Irati Bilbao, with a more modern and contemporary touch, coexist and blend brilliantly with classic jazz standards.
Acclaimed by both critics and the public alike, she has performed at the country’s top jazz festivals, including Jazzaldia in Donostia, Getxo Jazz Festival, Córdoba Jazz Festival, Lugo Jazz Festival, and at the finest jazz clubs, such as Nova Jazz Cava, Jazz Filloa, Assejazz, Clarence Jazz Club, Club Clavicémbalo, Meidinerz Jazz Club…
With deep roots in classic jazz, her repertoire spans a wide musical spectrum, combining modern and contemporary influences with original compositions and sensitively arranged standards, creating a concert experience that bridges past and present.
The singer from Biscay is accompanied by a stellar trio: Mikel Núñez on piano, Aitor Bravo on drums, and Jon Karranza on double bass.
Irati Bilbao Gandarias, born January 28, 1992, in Durango, began singing at the age of 17, having previously developed a strong interest in music while studying flute at the Bartolomé Ertzilla Music School. She holds a higher degree in Jazz Vocals from MUSIKENE (2020), under the guidance of Deborah J. Carter. She has worked professionally as a singer for many years and has been part of several projects, including Reunión Big Band, Manixa Jazz Choir, Bilbao Lindy Band, Jazzbana Ensemble, and Sarrabete.
